  • Magic Behind The Fence

Lily had always been fascinated by the overgrown garden behind her house. She would often peek through the fence to catch a glimpse of the colorful flowers and tangled vines. One day, while exploring the garden, she stumbled upon a hidden gate that she had never noticed before. Curiosity getting the better of her, she pushed it open and was surprised to find herself in a completely different world. Lily found herself in a magical garden, filled with strange creatures and a sense of wonder that she had never experienced before. She saw a fairy flitting around and asked her where she was. The fairy revealed that she was in the enchanted garden, which was created by a powerful sorceress who had long since vanished. The fairy explained that Lily had a special role to play in the garden, as it was in grave danger from an evil witch who had started to spread her influence in the area. The fairy urged Lily to help save the garden from the witch's grasp. Lily agreed to help and was given a special pendant that would guide her on her quest. The pendant would glow when she was on the right path and dim when she was straying off course. With the pendant in hand, Lily set off to explore the garden and find a way to stop the witch. As she journeyed through the garden, she met a talking rabbit who offered to guide her to the witch's lair. They traveled through dark forests and over treacherous terrain until they finally reached the witch's castle. It was guarded by a fierce dragon, but Lily managed to outsmart it by using her wits and her special pendant. Once inside the castle, Lily confronted the witch, who was a powerful sorceress with a heart of stone. The witch sneered at Lily's attempts to stop her, but Lily stood her ground and used her pendant to weaken the witch's powers. In the end, Lily was able to defeat the witch and free the garden from her curse. The garden was restored to its former glory, and Lily was hailed as a hero by the creatures who lived there. She returned home, happy and proud of what she had accomplished. As she looked back at the garden, she knew that she would always remember the magical adventure that had changed her life forever. "I can't believe I did it," Lily said to the rabbit. "I saved the garden!" "You did well," the rabbit replied. "You have a brave heart, and that is what counts." Lily smiled, knowing that she would always treasure the memories of her incredible adventure in the enchanted garden.A young girl named Lily had always been fascinated by the overgrown garden behind her house. • The Cosmo Crash

Mathew Calar Australia Zara was a young alien who lived on the planet Zorg. She loved to explore the vast and mysterious cosmos, and would often embark on daring expeditions into the unknown reaches of space. One day, while she was flying through the nearby asteroid belt, she spotted a strange object on one of the larger asteroids. Curious, Zara decided to investigate. As she approached the asteroid, she realized that the object was a spacecraft that had crashed onto the asteroid's surface. Zara quickly landed her own spacecraft nearby and rushed over to the wreckage to see if anyone was inside. As she peered through the broken window, she saw an injured alien lying on the floor of the cockpit. The alien's name was Xander, and he was from a planet that was located on the other side of the galaxy. Zara quickly realized that Xander needed her help, and she immediately set to work trying to save him. Using her extensive knowledge of alien medicine and first aid, Zara tended to Xander's wounds and made sure that he was stable enough to travel. Xander was grateful for her help and they quickly struck up a conversation. They talked about their planets, their adventures, and the wonders of the cosmos. As they talked, Zara realized that Xander's spacecraft was badly damaged and that he would not be able to return home without her help. Zara was determined to assist Xander in any way that she could. Together, they examined the damaged spacecraft and began to work on repairing it. Zara and Xander worked tirelessly on the spacecraft, using their knowledge of technology and mechanics to fix the engines, repair the hull, and replace damaged parts. They scavenged the nearby asteroids for resources and even had to improvise some of the repairs with parts from Zara's own spacecraft. After several days of hard work, the spacecraft was finally repaired. Xander was overjoyed and grateful to Zara for her help. Before he left, Xander gave Zara a special crystal from his planet as a token of their friendship. Zara watched as Xander's spacecraft took off and disappeared into the cosmos. She felt a little sad knowing that her friend was gone, but she was also happy to have made such a strong connection with someone from a distant planet. She returned to her own planet with the crystal and proudly showed it to her fellow aliens, who were amazed by its beauty and uniqueness. From that day on, Zara's adventures would never be the same. She had not only made a new friend but had also made a significant discovery that would change the way her planet saw the universe. And although she may never see Xander again, she knew that the bond of friendship they had formed would last forever, no matter how far apart they were in the galaxy.

  • A Stitch In Time Saves Nine

A couple of days ago, there lived a man in a beautiful village in the district of khairpur’ Sindh. It was the month of July. People everywhere were busy with their work of harvesting dates in the area. The embankments of the canal passing near the village were wrecked. The man was concerned about the people of the village. He managed to gather the people of the village and said to them, “Dear fellows, these banks of the canal should be repaired before monsoon season sets in. The upcoming rain may destroy the canal banks and affect us badly, so we must protect ourselves by repairing the canal banks before the rain starts.” But no one listened to him. His words were ignored. They left, saying, “We are busy with work, and we will see this matter later.’’ Date palm harvesting was going on in the village at that time. Time passed. It was the month of august when the rain started, and it was continuously raining heavily. Due to torrential rains, the canal bank broke down due to high water pressure. The water in the form of flood soon spread in the village. Land routes of the village to the city and nearby villages were blocked due to flooding. Many houses collapsed, livestock, veggies, crops, and date palm fruit fled away in flood water. People saved their lives by climbing mounds or roofs of concrete buildings. Mosquitoes were rampant, and epidemics outbreaks made life miserable. Bad smell of stagnant water and skin diseases spread all around. Many had to migrate to safe places by boat. Now people repented of their negligence, but all in vain. --Hifza Rabia

  • The Adventures of lily (lily's bakery)

It was a hot summer day when lily and her friend Ellie were sitting in their math class when their class teacher, miss Bella walked in with a face full of excitement "we are starting a fundraiser!" she exclaimed. "what is a fundraiser?" asked Ellie "great question, in the fundraiser kids in the school will do various different types of hustles to collect some money for a charity" miss Bella explained to the class. "the fundraiser will go on for two weeks, all of you students can list your hobbies and give them to me by the end of the day so I can help you with how you can start a hustle with it" As soon as she ended talking the bell rang and it was break time. In the break, Lily and Ellie were discussing what they could do to make some bucks for the fundraiser. "I could sell some cupcakes" exclaimed lily. "My mom is a pretty good baker, she can make some for us and we could sell them to raise some money" Ellie advised. They both settled on the idea and went to miss Bella who was in the staffroom. She really liked the idea but said that they would have to bake the cupcakes themselves as using the help of parents was strictly not allowed in the rules. The girls decided to meet the next day at 10 in the morning as it was a weekend. They took a seat in the kitchen and started to bake with the help of a cookbook. They first added cocoa powder then they added some baking powder then some milk and vegetable oil and finally some vanilla essence After baking, they decorated the cupcakes with some powdered sugar sprinkles and some Oreos. Just like this, the first batch of oreo chocolate cupcakes was ready. The girls wanted to make three different flavours of cupcakes and even some chocolate cookies as well. The flavours were the chocolate oreo cupcake, The vanilla muffin and the strawberry frosting. The girls then started making the vanilla muffins (which were the easiest to make. Then after a break, they made the strawberry frosting ones but messed up on the frosting part so they had to see a youtube tutorial for it. It took them 4 hours to bake all the cupcakes. When they were done baking the cupcakes and the cookies it was time to price the items. They decided to sell the muffin and frosting cupcakes for 2$ dollars each and the oreo ones for 2.50$. The cookies were 5$ for a pack of six. as Lilly was good at arts and crafts she made some cardboard boxes to put the items in. The girls then took a good night sleep because on Monday their journey was about to start. Chapter two: The sales girls After the first two lessons in school, it was time for the fundraiser activity. The girls first went to the art teacher and got some art supplies to make a poster which Ellie would hold as Lily would go to each house in the neighbourhood to sell the items. At nine o clock, the girls left the school to go to the streets of hilltown. when lily pressed the bell of the first house, a woman in her late fifties answered. "Hey, we were thinking if you could buy something from us as our school is doing a ..... Even before Lily could finish, the woman banged the door on her with no interest in buying anything. The girls were a little disheartened after the first incident with the lady. They then went to a house full of plants. There were two giant money plants in front of the main door. Flowers could also be seen in the room on the second floor with the help of a window. Lily went ahead and knocked on the door and another woman in her late 50s came out but this time, the woman was really supportive and bought two oreo cupcakes, a strawberry and a pack of cookies. They made 12$ from the sale. The girls third customer was a 21-year-old man with blond hair and wheat skin, he also bought a pack of cookies and a muffin which brought the girls total to 16$. The girls had a target of 100$ to get by the end of the week. The sun was almost about to set when the girls got their biggest sale yet. A 42-year-old man with his stomach coming out of his shirt because of his severe fatigue. He bought packs of cookies and 3 oreo cupcakes. They made 21$ from just this sale and brought their total to 37$. the girls then went home because tomorrow was gonna be an even longer and more exhausting day. The next day the girls, as usual, attended their first two periods and set off to the neighbourhood to sell more items. They first went to a house across the street. The woman who opened the door quickly recognized Ellie as she was her aunt. The woman invited the girls in but as they were in a rush they had to decline the offer. The woman ended up buying 5 oreo cupcakes and two packs of cookies which made a total of twenty-two dollars and 5 cents (22.50$). The total money the girls made in the two days were 59$. But unfortunately, the girls didn't make any other sale in the day. Day three Day three was the best day fr the girls because as soon as they left the school they saw a truck stop by. It was full of factory workers wearing yellow helmets and blue uniforms. All twenty of them bought vanilla cupcakes from Lilli and Ellie. They made a total of 40$ dollars from it and brought the total amount to 99$. just soon after that, the girls sold their last strawberry cupcake. and brought the total to 101$ The girls reached thier target with 4 days to spare. :)

  • The Cooper Case

Writer: Ashita Bhardwaj It was a sunny day. As Mr. Cooper took out his convertible, he called out to his daughter, “Lily, hurry up! You are running late for school.” Lily was in the habit of waking up late which often delayed her father. As she ran to the car, she quickly grabbed her lunch bag. Then her father drove her to the school. The corridors were almost empty as she raced to her class. Finally, she sank in her seat and smiled at her best friend Bess White. As the first period was Physics, her favourite subject, she listened attentively. At the end of the day, she went to the library to get a book. As she walked back home, it began to rain. This reminded her of her beautiful mother who was no more. She would always come to pick Lily up whenever it rained. After reaching home, she started doing her homework. Soon, her father returned and they ate dinner together. Afterwards, they both fell asleep, reading their books in bed. As she woke up the next morning, a Saturday, she suddenly realized that it was her birthday. Her father was already awake and had made her a special breakfast. After eating, she settled down near a window with her book. Suddenly, a scrap of paper fell out of the book. It was old and yellow, with torn edges. It read, “EREHT SI A NEDDIH ERUSEART” What could it mean? She excitedly called up Bess. They both loved mysteries and were equally good at decoding codes. As soon as Bess saw the paper, she exclaimed, “Oh, It’s the mirror image!” Lily understood immediately. “You’re right! The letters are written in the reverse order.” Now the paper read, “THERE IS A HIDDEN TREASURE” Bess scratched her head. “But where?” Just then, Lily snapped her fingers and spoke, “Hey, when you take all the first letters from the words, they form “TIAHT”! That’s the Chinese plant Dad and I planted last summer I the backyard. Let’s go look there.” They decided to dig under the Tiaht tree. After a while, they unearthed a small box But it was ticking! Could it be a bomb? Lily opened the lid gingerly and gasped. It was a brand-new, gleaming, girl’s watch! A handwritten note read, “For Lily. Love, Daddy.” Lily started laughing. Her father had been hinting about it. He had finally gifted her a watch so that she would remember to be on time. Just then, all her friends came out from behind the bushes. It was a surprise birthday party! Her father also emerged from the house, smiling. Lily ran and hugged him tightly.

  • What if I Could Start My Own Business

Writer: Apoorva Vishwanath What if I could start my business? “Children, today’s homework is that you have to write your dream/ ambition and why do you think it can’t be fulfilled at this age of yours” said my English teacher in the online classes. English was the last period and I finished personal chat with my friend, Samika. As soon as ma’am ended the meeting, I removed my headphones and thought of doing the homework around 7:00 in evening and after dinner, I finally accepted to do it because there was no way I could extend it any longer. So, I wrote: There is something that I always wished to have… my own company of Craft creations that sells Home decors which should run on both physical and Virtual platform that would be a cross between Amazon and IKEA. Its name would be Handy Mandy. Well the almighty doesn’t fulfil everyone’s dreams and so I wouldn’t be able to complete it, at least at this age. I knew it was too short but I didn’t have any mood in writing pages and pages long… I felt drowsy and remembered something… Sleep. I had recently sewed my Softie that’s more likely to be used as a pillow, so I took it and went to the bunk bed in the other room where I saw my elder sister had taken the top part near the AC and left the bottom to me. I dumped into the bed and felt asleep… “Apoorva wake up, you’ve got a letter from someone.” Said my mom. I slowly creeped with my blanket on the floor and myself midway between the bed and the floor. My usual mornings were always like that. I looked at the window past the mirror which made a Rainbow reflection at me and I saw Dev, my dog playing with my dad. That’s something I can say you about dad… whenever he sees the TV, he sees programs about Animals interestingly and asks us never to disturb him. Perhaps he likes animals more than Humans. The time was around 7 in the morning. I took the letter from my mom’s hand and it got a little crunched up. I wondered who sent it to me. The letter said: Dear Apoorva Vishwanath, The results of MagicKids is out and it is so pleasant to announce it to you… You have won Rupees 50000/- for getting the first prize… you have made our school proud. MagicKids have also offered you 15 days coding sessions!! Aren’t you excited? • Bobo Grows a Tree

It was a hot day in the city of Kebili. The temperature can rise to 37°C on average but there was nobody to stop bobo the monkey to stop eating those yellow and juicy mangoes. While eating the yellow fruit he was wondering how are they even made? He quickly ran towards his owner Mr. Bob who was a farmer. "Who makes mangoes? he asked. "Oh, Bobo," laughed the old farmer. "I know how to make mangoes," he exclaimed Bobo followed his owner into the fields he was tolled to be seated under a tree and watch. The farmer took the remaining piece of the mangoes from Bobo(which was mostly the seed) and set it aside. Then he got his rusty yellow shovel and started to dig. His sweat was dripping from the back of his neck like syrup on pancakes. Once the hole was big enough he took the mangoes and washed them. After that, he placed the giant seed into the slot. Then he set the sand back as if he was burying the seed. In the following step, he took a pail of water and sprinkled it on the sand. Bobo wasn't interested so he went back into the treehouse. The next day Bobo was told that he had to water the plants, so he did. He did this for a whole month after which something astonishing happened, there was a small green stick popping out of the ground, could it be? Yes, it was the young plant. Seeing the plant grow made him, even more, motivated than before. He would come to the fields every day at 5 pm to water the plants and the tree was doing quite well, it was about 2 feet tall by now but that is when disaster struck. It had been a whole month but there was no notable difference in the height or width of the plant. He asked the farmer for advice and he explained that some plants need fertilizers. Fertilizers are chemical substances that help a plant grow better. With the help of the farmer, Bobo sprinkled some of it in the soil and prayed for the tree to grow. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Although it takes 40+ years for a Mango tree to give its first fruit but still it was a good exercise for Bobo. You can make your kids do the same exercise to learn about plants and the environment.
