My memorable day

I was very excited and as well as very nervous. I had my dialogues perfectly memorized. I was confident that I would do well and I did it. I got ready and at 5 p.m. wore the white uniform. I and my mates along with teachers went to *MTPS*. On the very next day, I got prepared for my speech competition. It was my first stage performance in life in front of 29 schools. I was far from my home but I did not lose hope. When it was my turn, I got so nervous my sweat trickled down. I wish I could just leave the stage but I did not lose hope. My topic was *Swachh Bharat, Swasth Bharat*. At last, I gave a flawless rendition. I received a standing ovation from the audience. I was excited to know the results but it was to be declared the next day. The next day, the judges declared the results. I jumped out of my chair 3 feet high when my name was announced as the third position holder. It was my first trophy, first performance, first on-stage experience and a memorable day. I received a certificate, a trophy, a bouquet and lots of token of honor. At my school, I was overwhelmed with congratulations I was applauded in the morning assembly. I was also awarded a shield and a certificate. It was for me, a dream come true. The experience was memorable. Neharica Gupta
